All of our members have expertise in criminal litigation, whether prosecuting or defending, and Chambers has a long established reputation in cases concerning fraud, corruption, serious organised crime, murder and terrorism. Members of Chambers have acted in many of the most serious and high-profile criminal trials over the past decades.

Whilst traditionally focusing on criminal law, 9-12 Bell Yard is also well known for its expertise in other areas of law, particularly in civil proceedings involving elements of criminal substance or procedure, or issues involving human rights. Many members possess specialist knowledge in civil law fields including judicial review and administrative law, tax litigation, inquests and public inquiries, extradition, asset recovery and regulatory and disciplinary law.

Chambers’ work is concentrated in London and the south-east, but members act in cases across the country and internationally. Our other major professional clients include the CPS, the SFO, TSol, HMRC, the FPS, BIS, SOCA, the FSA, Royal Mail, the Home Office and other government legal departments, legal departments of major companies and local authorities.
